Let us see what the sum of the Gospel is, and what its certainty is.
The Apostle encompasses the sum of the Gospel in 1 Corinthians 15: Moreover, I declare to you, brethren, the Gospel which I preached to you, which you also received, in which you also stand, through which you also are saved, if you hold fast to the words I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received, namely, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, etc.
Thus he encompasses the sum in Romans 1 and 4, that the Son of God was promised, born according to the flesh from the seed of David, was delivered for our sins, and was raised for our justification. He continues the same righteousness by appearing at the right hand of the Father for us, to Romans 8, Hebrews 9, and from there he is expected for our salvation, just as the same Apostle briefly encompasses the sum of his Gospel. 1 Thessalonians 1: Knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God, because our Gospel came to you, not in speech alone, but also in power, both in the Holy Spirit and in much certain persuasion, as you know what kind of men we were among you, for your sake.
