LXXVI.
The Father begot His Son today, that is, from eternity, whence He is called eternal life, 1 John 5, whence also He is said to have been in the beginning before time or any creatures existed, 1 John 1. Thus His goings forth are from the beginning, from the days of eternity, Micah 5. Thus from Isa. 44, the Son of God Himself says in Apocal. 1: I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last. But if the Son of God is the first, He does not acknowledge anyone prior to Himself: therefore He is ὁμοούσιος consubstantial to the Father.
LXXVII.
The name of Jehovah is expressly attributed to Christ, Jer. 23, where the branch of David is called Jehovah our righteousness.

Similarly, we read in Isa. 43: You have made me (Jehovah) to serve in your sins, you have wearied me with your iniquities, I am, I am he who blots out your transgressions for MY sake, and I will not remember your sins anymore: which can be referred to none but Christ.
LXXIX.
He is called the mighty God and the Father of eternity, Isa. 9; God blessed forever, Rom. 9; The true God, 1 John 5; The Lord of glory, 1 Cor. 15.

LXXXII.
The cult of adoration belongs to Christ, Heb. 1, John 5, 9, Acts 7, 1 Cor. 1, Phil. 2, Apoc. 5.
LXXXIII.
Christ is the Καρδιογνώστης knower of hearts, Mark 2, John 2, Apoc. 2. But it belongs to God alone to search hearts, 1 Kings 8. Therefore Christ is true God, ὁμοούσιος consubstantial and ὁμοαιώνιος coeternal to the Father.

Wherefore the Satanic fury of Arius was great, who said there was a time when the Son did not exist, and who makes the Son unequal to the Father in essence and dignity, against so many clear testimonies of Holy Scripture.
