PROPOSITIONS

ON LITHIASIS

OF THE KIDNEYS,

FOR WHICH, UNDER THE PRESIDENCY OF THE MOST ILLUSTRIOUS

Man, Lord Felix Plater, Physician of the

Renowned City of Basel and most distinguished Dean of the Medical Faculty,

on the 13th day before the Kalends of March February 17th,

with God being propitious,

Master Andrea Ruinella,

a Gaul from Rhaetia,

will dispute, at the usual time and place.

An ornamental woodcut frame features two lions flanking a central emblem containing an hourglass, surrounded by scrollwork and foliage. This is a common emblem for academic disputations of the period.

Wine must remain for one who is well-favored. Original: "Οἶνος μένειν δεῖ τὸν καλῶς εὐδαίμονα."
