For those who are more senior among them, and who excel in authority, shake out the nest of the younger ones when they are strong in feathers, and command them to fly immediately into our dominions, so that they may hold the initiated enterprises—that is, that they may renew old conspiracies already calmed and buried in the bosom of the fatherland, and disturb and mix everything, so that the powers of the bullae papal bulls/decrees against the Prince and their own fatherland may be confirmed, fortified, and, with all their ability, those now wavering may be gathered back. Who likewise, if they are caught in those parts and are sometimes forced to open the very fountains of their counsels, return to the same state like simple lambs, affirming that they have only attained as much of the business as had been mandated to them by their superiors, from whose institutes and laws they would not be permitted, on account of the force of conscience, to depart. And that this business was given to them: that, having scorned the mandates and terrors of all Kings and nations, they should lift up the impiety, as they call it, creeping into these kingdoms, that they should rouse up the collapsing religion, and that they should instruct and correct the consciences of the erring people, and, as far as it seemed to them, bend everyone into their parts. A kind of response, as you see, simple and open, even though it has various turns and nothing is more alien to simplicity.
Traitors from across the sea send sowers of sedition into the kingdom.
