But if to anyone our Apology appears in some places more vehement than is fair, let him remember that we are not debating a minor issue here, but are burdened by the charge of heresy. No Christian can bear this injustice with a calm mind, or hide it with cowardly silence, unless he wishes to betray the truth of the Gospel and the glory of JESUS CHRIST, which ought to be considered more precious to us than life itself. Farewell, Christian Reader, and pray to God, the Best and Greatest, that He may hear the groans of His servants, bless their pious efforts, and restore to the struggling churches the long-desired peace, so that all may think and speak the same thing in Christ.
