You are right to speak of the vocation of all those who have Ecclesiastical offices, although you speak only of that of the Ministers and Pastors. But to know on which side the right lies, we will speak first of our vocation, then of yours, etc.
If you hold that the Ecclesiastical vocation is straight, ordinary, and whole in your Church, you yourselves provide us with the answer. For by your own saying, John Knox was called to the order of your priesthood in Scotland. Such were the first reforming Bishops and other Ecclesiastics of our time in England. Such was Martin Luther, Doctor of Theology in Saxony, and one of the first preachers of the truth in Germany. Such was Matthias Zellius, curate of St. Lawrence in Strasbourg: Martin Bucer, Dominican Doctor and then an excellent pastor in the same place, as also Gaspar Hedio, first Doctor of Theology and Theological preacher at Mainz, Herman, Archbishop of Cologne, and Gerard, today expelled from the same Archbishopric for the same cause, Zwingli in Zurich, Oecolampadius in Basel, Berthold Haller, Canon and preacher
