are one. John 10:30 Note: The OCR mistakenly lists 19:30, but the context clearly indicates John 10:30; and this saying of Paul: Because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, that is, Father. Gal. 4:6.
Therefore these three are one: or one God. Which was to be shown.?
1. We know therefore that an idol is nothing in the world, and there is no other God except the one. For even if there are those who are called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God the Father, from whom are all things, and we in him: and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through him. 1 Cor. 8:4, 5, 6.
2. Therefore, holy and blessed men or angels are not to be worshipped: since they are not Gods, in which name we do not believe in them. Rom. 10:14.
Christ is one.
Christ, who is the theanthropos God-man person, anointed above all companions by the Holy Spirit, so that he may be the King, supreme Priest, and Prophet of the Catholic Church: who finally is both the head of the Church, and acknowledges God the Father as his head.
