Grynaeus, Johann Jakob · 1587

gentle, the High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek, and that Prophet whom no one may despise with impunity. Zech. 9:9, Gen. 14:18, 19, Deut. 18:18, 19.
3. Jesus Christ was made from the seed of David, according to the flesh, and declared the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness. Rom. 1:3, 4 and 9:5. The genealogy of Jesus Christ pertains to this, which Matthew in chapter 1 described using the synthetical method a method of composition or construction, and Luke in chapter 3 described in good faith using the analytical method a method of resolution or breakdown.
There is no other Christ of the Lord than that one who, if you look at his Person, is the eternal God, just as he also becomes true man, the seed of David, like his brothers in all things, sin excepted. If you consider his Office, he is King, Priest, and Prophet, to whom alone the prōteia preeminence or first place in the whole Catholic Church is owed, as the first two axioms warn.
Yet all those things fit that one JESUS of Nazareth.
Therefore, he is that one Christ of the Lord: which was to be demonstrated.
Therefore, this Christ Jesus is common to the Fathers and to us, even though in the fullness of time, God the Father sent his Son, made of a woman, made subject to the Law, to redeem those who were subject to the Law, so that we might receive adoption. Gal. 4:4, 5.
Hence, it is also for this reason that these oracles have their meaning: Gen. 3:15, "The seed of the woman will crush the head of the serpent." And chapter 22:18, "And in you all the nations of the earth shall be blessed."
