SINCE there is no one among us in this our time who does not feel the sycophantic darts, deceits, and violence of their own strenuous Doeg, who boasts in wickedness; indeed, this sentence of David must be repeated continuously by each of us:
Yet I will be like a green Olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the goodness of God forever and ever: Psalm 52.8.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the καλλιέλαιος good olive tree: and that blessed Olive tree. Each one of us is an ἀγριέλαιος wild olive tree. But it is well, because we, being σύμφυτοι planted together by the hand of the eternal Father, have grown together with the Lord Jesus. According to the opinion of the Apostle: But you, when you were a wild olive, were grafted in for them, and became a partaker of the root and fatness of the Olive tree. Rom. 11.17.
The Catholic Church, as it is the House of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth, 1. Tim. 3.15, thus is ἐλαιοφόρος olive-bearing, and an ἐλαιών olive grove
