with a candle lit, should attempt to represent the splendor of the Sun), but also many βέβηλα profane things follow regarding the Body and Blood of Christ, that it is indeed bodily, but nevertheless invisibly, and illocally, or is everywhere, or is in many places, or lies hidden in the bread: that the Body of Christ itself is perceived sensually, by the mouth, that it is ground by teeth: as the Berengarian recantation has it: as we now omit other δύσφημα blasphemous things.

ON FORM.
MINDFUL AND STUDIOUS OF TRUTH.
But how is the holy Supper administered to us, when we use and enjoy it ourselves?
TRUTH.
The goodness and wisdom of God our nourisher shines in this mystical Supper: and the virtue of our faith. For just as God Himself, immediately, gives us the Bread and Drink of life: but mediately exhibits its Symbols to us, namely the Bread and Wine of the Lord, by the hand of His servants, in the same way we also understand through faith, that the Bread and Drink of life are truly exhibited to the mouth of the soul, or faith: but the earthly Bread and Drink by the hand and mouth of the body, to be perceived in the same way as we are accustomed to perceive the proclamation of the Gospel of doctrine, externally by the ears, and internally by the ear of the soul, or faith.
TESTIMONIES.
1. That the Bread and Drink of life are given immediately by God Himself. My Father gives you that truly heavenly bread. For the bread of God is he who descends from heaven, and gives life to the world. And the bread which I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. John 6:32, 51.
