Once more, on this shining day, the new glory of the most illustrious Virtue of the Virgin comes to be exalted; it comes, most worthy to be carried even to the heavens. Behold, she was a Virgin, yet simultaneously the most beautiful Mother, who brought forth into the cold breezes the supreme Lord—He who fills the stars with a great nod and holds the joyful reins of the immense world—filled with the inspiration of God. From Him, the salvation of the human race, which was shrouded in darkness, was born, and the golden fountain of all good things arose.
Therefore, O Mother, I shall begin the proclamations of your praise, which the choirs of heaven—who occupy the high places above—scarcely dare to attempt, and whose fates they fear to speak of worthily, since all things are so great that they cannot be deservedly celebrated in song even above the ether. Therefore, my spirit desires to speak now of the divine honors we celebrate for you, most illustrious Virgin. For our company, dedicated to your sacred piety, always honors you, O Goddess, and always frequents you.
Indeed, I shall also sing of the solemn festivals of this present day and the ancient rites. For lights ignited here and there in sacred places and in the temples of the pious will everywhere banish dark shadows with their light,
