EPISTLE OF DEDICATION.
This type of writing, since it is both new and most true, unless my hands, eyes, and Vulcan symbolizing the alchemical furnace/fire deceive me along with experimental reason and rational experiment, there is no doubt that it will be very pleasing and acceptable to Your Highness, to whom my previous works, whatever they were, originating from a sincere mind, have pleased. I commend you to God the Best and Greatest, along with your most beloved spouse and princely children. Given at Frankfurt am Main, 1618, in the month of September.
