via the spirit cannot be in our stone, except via the body.
The oil which will float on top should be removed for so long until no blackness appears anymore, and a round little cloud ascends, which must be left until its sublimation is formed.
The whole art is contained in one stone, to which nothing is added, or mixed in the whole, or in part, until the work is finished.

Sulfur that does not burn by nature.
The best sulfur is considered to be the living, which they call Apyron, splendid in the manner of a small pearl, shining through, not at all stony, etc. Read in that chapter the Corollary of Barbarus, for whom in that Chemical art Crystal lights. White foliated earth. sulfur is in place of the male: but mercury, that is, argentum vivum quicksilver, is in place of the female, so that Democritus therefore reported that quicksilver is the foam of all metals.
The Philosopher's Stone, sprouting from the earth, is perfected or exalted in the fire, satiated with the drink of the most limpid water for at least twelve hours, visibly swelling on all sides.
Be long-suffering, and do not extract the tincture hurriedly, nor seek to finish it hurriedly or swiftly, etc. And at the end of the same chapter he says: Therefore, my dearest, you need to labor in the dissolution of the stone, namely, by separating its purer parts from the impure, so that the heavier parts being cast away, the work may be finished with the lighter ones.
What potable gold is.
The body dissolved in the water which is called perennial, is our potable Gold.
