A decorative rectangular cartouche with notched corners appears at the top of the page. Inside, the phrase "May you read with joy" original: "Lege Feliciter" is centered. It is flanked by two Chi-Rho symbols, which represent the first two letters of the name of Christ in Greek. The letters Alpha and Omega hang from the crossbars of these symbols to signify the beginning and the end.
These titles refer to the historical dioceses of the Languedoc region that were united under the Bishopric of Montpellier.
