...in their declension. Those that are barytone not having an acute accent on the last syllable are declined with a long omega. Similarly for names of cities: for example, Silōn, Silōnos.
The aulax furrow, aulakos. The aix goat, aigos.
The pidax spring/fountain, pidakos. The proix gift, proikos.
Feminine nouns ending in -x with a vowel are declined with a kappa, except for monosyllabic ones: for example, syx fig, sygos. Proix, however, is declined with a kappa: proikos.
The sphix sphinx, sphigos. The salpix trumpet, salpingos.
The sarx flesh, sarkos.
For those ending in -x with a consonant: those that have a gamma are declined with a gamma; those that have another consonant are declined with a kappa.
The mētēr mother, mēteros, O mēter. The thygatēr daughter, thygateros, O thygater.
Feminine nouns ending in -ēr are declined with -oros. Mētros mother's and thygatros daughter's are said by syncope the omission of sounds within a word.
The lampas torch, lampados. The rhis nose, rhinos. Feminine nouns ending in -as are declined with -ados: for example, monas unit, monados.
The philotēs friendship, philotētos. The kakotēs wickedness, kakotētos.
Feminine nouns ending in -tēs are declined with -tētos.
