The aspect of the Small Face. Regarding the term "hiding" in the Victory and Splendor: the lower three emanations of the Mother enter into the Small Face to create "mentalities" intellectual faculties for him. The lower three of the Small Face are hidden and covered within the Victory, Splendor, and Foundation of the Female. This is why it is said that the lower three of the Female are hidden. For Victory and Splendor are both closed and revealed; they stand there and give her the nourishment of life through the Foundation. Joseph the Righteous merited this in his union with her. It is written of them, "one is strong and one is held back," from the mouth of the Foundation to the Kingdom. This is not the case for the month of Kislev in Victory and Splendor, which are closed and revealed by force for the "bread of the poor." At the time of the preparation for the Sabbath, they return to the world in the secret and holiness of the Covenant and the union with the Kingdom, giving life to be revealed. This is the meaning of "forced in the bread," and the secret of the discourse is as above.
"The Whiteness of the Sapphire" refers only to the Foundation alone. As it is written in Genesis, "Joseph the Righteous who established the Palace of Sapphire, the spirit of glory, the Whiteness of the Sapphire." Therefore, although some sages have said it refers to the inclusion of both Foundation and Kingdom—since the Kingdom always descends into the world below it, as happened during the "diminishing of the moon"—nonetheless, its being called by a single name composed of two words, "Whiteness" and "Sapphire," also has reasons.
The first reason is that the Kingdom of the Foundation decides between Victory and Splendor. The end is included from the two of them. Therefore, it is called "Whiteness" from the aspect of the Voice, and "Sapphire" from the aspect of Victory and the surrounding light. This was because the Foundation is always included as male and female. In the portion "Lech Lecha," page 82, it says, "This one rose and did not rest, and the female saw it thus, checked it," etc. This is also found in Chapter 9 of the "Book of the Crown" which is on the head of the Foundation. For there is no crown except in the place where the Kingdom is a persona in its own right. This is from page 282, side a, "The Kindness of Isaac." However, the Crown is the inclusion of the Strength from the crown of the emanations. For this reason, it is called "Whiteness" corresponding to the Crown, which is the female in which all ten emanations are included. "Sapphire" corresponds to the Foundation itself. This is why it says that "Whiteness of the Sapphire" includes the emanations of Foundation and Kingdom. It was the aspect of the Crown within the Foundation itself. These are the words of the RaMaz Rabbi Moshe Zacuto.
Know that all these aspects of the Klippot Husks or shells of impure forces are mentioned in their places by their names. The seven "mentalities" of the Small Face of the Husks are called Dogs, Goats, Pigs, Spies, etc. Regarding the Husk that is between them, on the verse "And the sons of God saw the daughters of man," and in the portion "Acharei Mot," page 4, regarding the "two sons who nurse every day and are honored by thousands of paths." These are two mentalities of the Husks of the Small Face of the World of Emanation, like two "trapped ones." And two mentalities of the Female of the Husks of the World of Emanation, like "fruitful ones." According to the frost and the cold here in the portion "Vayechi," there are two "fruitful ones." This is what is said in the Zohar, "Vayechi," page 162, "Kindness to spread out and nest."
In the secret of "Laban had two daughters," there are also three daughters in the Husks corresponding to them, who are like ninety fruitful ones as mentioned above. Behold, in the three worlds of Creation, Formation, and Action, all the nations of the Husks—whether from Wisdom, Understanding, or the seven emanations—are all called by the names of nations, such as harlots and so on, like "donkeys of death." The reason is that because Creation, Formation, and Action are the worlds of the Holy One, blessed be He, they are called by the language of "harlots" due to the Husks within them. The Small Face of the World of Emanation in holiness has three wives: Leah and Rachel. Leah is in the place of the Knowledge of the Small Face. Rachel is in the place of the Beauty of the Small Face. The same applies to the Small Face in the three lower worlds.
Similarly, in the Husks, the Small Face of impurity has these three wives in all the worlds of Creation, Formation, and Action. It is explained in "The Chair," page 132, regarding the three internal worlds from the first repair of the "Beard," which is called "Stay." Those three worlds were formed there in that repair and descended below to their specific loops. For the upper world descended into the Understanding of Emanation. The second world descended into the Beauty of Emanation. The third world descended into the Kingdom of Emanation. Afterward, they descended further down into the three worlds of Creation, Formation, and Action, each corresponding to Understanding, Beauty, and Kingdom. Leah and Rachel are the three wives of the Small Face from the internal aspect. Even though they are sometimes on the outside, they are known by specific names and reasons. Indeed, they are internal wives. But from the aspect of the "Backsides," they were also made from the aspect of the judgments of the Backsides of those
three worlds mentioned above. The upper world is the backside of the Understanding of Emanation. All of them are the aspect of the backside of the Kingdom. The second world is the backside of the Kingdom of Emanation. The third world is at the backside of Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid. For Leah is behind Leah, and Leah is the aspect of Understanding. The second world produced from its backside the Small Face of the aspect of Knowledge and its Kingdom of Beauty, which are the "three kings" called the "backsides of death" as mentioned. The third world produced from behind Zilpah her handmaid. These three worlds expanded mentalities to the Husks, all from the world of the "Stay" in which is Zilpah, the handmaid of Leah, who is Understanding. This is because Understanding has an aspect of the Husk.
Know that the Female of the Husk and from the third world, which is Zilpah, went out from it to scatter two, which is the mentality of Understanding. For the first scattering from Zilpah did not remain in its place against Zilpah. Rather, it descended below against Bilhah. There, these three fruitful ones of Zilpah and Bilhah were joined together. They became the three mentalities of the Female of the World of Emanation of the Husks, corresponding to Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaid. For the upper scattering is the Wisdom within it, and the lower scattering is the Understanding within it. But the second world of Zilpah, from the backside of the Small Face, produced from its Knowledge and Beauty three "trapped ones" as mentioned.
Afterward, I heard from the sages regarding the backside of the Small Face: from these three worlds of Creation and Formation—which are Understanding, Beauty, and Kingdom—there expanded three females and three males. In their places, which are the backsides of Understanding, Beauty, and Kingdom. The first world corresponds to the end of Understanding, corresponding to its lower three emanations that clothe themselves within the Small Face. This corresponds to the first scattering. The second world came out from against the Understanding of the Small Face as mentioned. These—which are Rachel and Leah and their actual mentalities—will be the second scattering. These three fruitful ones joined this Husk which is against Rachel, etc. In the third world, against Rachel, there is an aspect from which Lilith emerged, the "Coast of the Sea," whose every action is wailing. She is always wailing, so she is called Lilith. She goes out in the aspect of the "Female of the Great Abyss" mentioned in the Zohar. This is publicized because in the Husks of the lower three worlds, there are two females. The upper one is Understanding, and she is in their seventh palace. In the "Abyss" is the Kingdom, and she is in their lowest palace, called the "Female of the Great Abyss."
But the upper female who is in the seventh upper palace of the Husk of the World of Creation is Leah. She is called the "End of the Great Abyss." This is the one called Lilith, the "Coast of the Sea." Thus there are three females: Zilpah, Bilhah, and Lilith. Zilpah and Bilhah are those three fruitful ones who joined together below in the place of the second scattering. For outside the place of the Husk against Understanding, and the three daughters from the conclusion of Rachel, she is like the "Female of the Great Abyss." Indeed, corresponding to these three females, there also emerged from the backside of the Male two "trapped ones." Corresponding to the lower ones are three "trapped ones," spies, etc. This is the portion of the husband of Lilith, "Coast of the Sea," below in the "Female of the Great Abyss." He is the Wisdom of the World of Creation of the Husks. The three "trapped ones" are the three mentalities of the Small Face of the Husks of the World of Emanation.
Know that the Kingdom of the World of Emanation has an aspect of "teats of a beast," from which all the Husks nurse. In the beginning of the year, they nurse from the emanations of the Husk of "Nogah" the translucent shell that can be converted to holiness, which is sometimes holy. On the day of Kindness, the strength of the male’s choices, the seal of the two mentalities of the Small Face of the Husks of Emanation, they rise up during the day and nurse from the Kingdom of Holiness from those "teats of the beast." But when they are during the day outside of the days, they grow strong. Therefore, they nurse in the morning. This is the secret of "Spies of the Sun," meaning in the morning. For the power of the face of the moon, the holy side, will surround them. But the two "fruitful ones," who are the two mentalities of the Female of Emanation of the Husks, cannot nurse during the day, only at night. This is because the judgments of the Female are ruling. The same applies in the lower three worlds, for the Husks nurse from the holiness of those worlds. The males nurse during the day and the females at night.
Behold, just as all the foundations from the Victory, Splendor, and Foundation of the Small Face are called the "Mirror that Shines," because the Kingdom receives from its head, from above the greenery that is built as mentioned. And the "Sapphire" is the appearance of the Kingdom that is within the Small Face.
