Phinehas, may his Name be blessed, he himself draws the single Tipah Drop which is comprised of thirty Yodin the letter Yod. This is above the Supernal Mind, the most holy of all high things. And these are the seven attributes of the "Beard" of the Long Face the vast, merciful aspect of the Divine as mentioned in the section on Loving-kindness Chesed. These are aspects of Loving-kindness, for the word Chesed Loving-kindness has the numerical value of 72 Av. The spiritual "Constellation" Mazla is the eighth attribute.
These Yodin letters correspond to the Name of 63 Sag. This is the union of the Father and the Constellation. This is the secret of the 366 aspects of the Feminine. From here is drawn the "Light of the Aura of Creation" Or de-Ma'aseh Bereshit, which used to shine from one end of the world to the other. Although this light descends to the lowest levels, it does not become coarse or clothed in physical matter at all. Its power is as great below as it is above. This is different from the flow of the other Sefirot Divine Emanations.
The aforementioned spiritual drop is comprised of three Yodin and the Light of Creation. In the portion of the Zohar regarding the "Gift" Terumah, this is called the "Light of the Firmament." Through this introduction, you will understand most of that text. This aspect is the light within the spirituality of the emanations. Below the "Water," this light exists within this drop. When it is within the "womb" of the Feminine the receptive aspect of divinity, it is formed and clothed within a "vessel" made of five natural aspects. This provides the power of "clothing," forming the vessels of Water and Firmament, which are aspects of Loving-kindness.
Because the drop itself was drawn and conceptualized from how it existed above, a thin garment was made for it, taken from the secret of Loving-kindness. It was drawn with it from the Supernal Mind called the Constellation Mazla. The matter is that the aspect of "White" is also drawn, which is called Water and is named by the number 63 Sag. This comes from the three Yodin themselves that are in the eighth and thirteenth attributes of the Divine Beard. These Yodin letters represent the three intellectual faculties: Wisdom, Understanding, and Knowledge Chachmah, Binah, Da'at.
The secret of this entire drop is still within the "Foundation" Yesod of the Male aspect. Therefore, all our intentions are to draw it down through the secret of Loving-kindness. Now, the aspect of Water has the power to clothe itself in the six lower directions. However, the four Yodin of the Name of 72 Av do not clothe themselves because of the "Great Light" within them. Only the three lower Yodin clothe themselves and become "thick" more manifest or material.
The aspect of the "Soul of the Soul" Neshamah l'Neshamah does not clothe itself at all. However, when it descends further to the aspect of the "Living Soul" Chayah, those three lower Yodin are clothed again. The Name of 63 Sag is the aspect of the "Small Face" Zeir Anpin. From there, they descend to the Loving-kindness of the Small Face, and from there to its Foundation. This second aspect is called Water. It serves as a garment for the quality of Mercy, which is called Light. But this Water has the potential for "thickness" becoming more physical which the Light does not have.
The reason it is called "Water" is because the Light is the most refined and pure, with no thickness at all. Once it is clothed in this thin garment, it is called Water. Just as physical water is somewhat thick and can be clouded, yet it is clearer than other physical substances, so too there is a bit of thickness as it descends. It is also called Water because it contains seven Yodin from the Names of 72 and 63. The number 72 is numerically equivalent to the word for "Kindness/Water."
When this drop descends in this garment called Water into the Small Face, it is called "Two Thousand" Alephim. This provides a "skin" or "covering" for the drop. Because it is "Water," it has a hidden thickness, which is why it is called "Thousands." Another reason is the aspect of Light.
The Light consisted of four Yodin and the Water consisted of seven Yodin, making eleven Yodin. When combined with the Names 72 and 63, it equals the value of the "Throne" and "Thousands." Now it is necessary to create the aspect of the "Firmament" Rakia, which is the Name of 45 Mah, representing the "Flesh." The drop that was Light was given a garment of Water. Now it must be given a second garment, thicker than Water, where the waters congeal and become a Firmament. This is the vessel. When a child is born from its mother's womb, it is then in the aspect of the Firmament-garment.
It is known that the "Hidden One" includes the Light. Only the aspect of Loving-kindness is revealed in action. The rest — the Spirit and the Soul — are there in potential, not in action. Through a person's engagement in the Torah and the commandments, they create the "Thousand-fold Garment." Then the higher lights can be clothed and revealed in action. This second garment called Firmament is only made for the lower levels of the Soul.
Know that the soul itself, which is the aforementioned Light from the union Zivug, is the secret of the "Covered Kindnesses" and "Covered Severities." The essence of the body is completed in the "Foundation" Yesod of the Female. There, they join with the Severities of the Kingdom Malchut. The drop is formed together and becomes a Soul. However, there is no Soul that does not need to be clothed. There are two Names of God Havayah for this soul. One covering is drawn from the Father and the second from the Mother. When the Kindnesses emerge from the throat, they spread out. This is why it says in the portion on "Judgments" Mishpatim, page 37, that the garment of the holy soul is called Eloah God. For the secret of the Kindnesses is called El the Almighty. This is also what is meant by "A light was in the womb that could see from one end of the world to the other, but was hidden for the righteous." This means it is only seen through the garment. Similarly, the Severities of the Mother, before they rose to receive the male drop, clothe themselves within the merciful Severities. Through them, it has the power to rise. This spirit brings up the "Feminine Waters." Do not wonder how such a high spirit can become a garment. It is like an eagle hovering over its young, spreading its wings to take them up. All the lights are clothed in the Kingdom Malchut to protect them from the "External Forces" Chitzonim evil spirits. For the light is high and great, and the external forces cannot touch it. This is the secret of the verse, "The world is built on Loving-kindness." Afterward, the body of the child is prepared, comprised of the original Kindnesses and Severities, and the garment of the Name of God, made of three coverings.
Know that there are different types of unions Zivugim. The first is the high, spiritual union called the "Union of Kisses" Zivug de-Neshikin. The second is the lower, physical union of "Foundation to Foundation" Yesod to Yesod. Both of these unions occur above in the spiritual realms. There is no union in the world that is not preceded by the Union of Kisses. This union is hinted at in the Zohar, portion Terumah, page 147, on the verse "Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth." This is the Kiss of Love, the spreading of the spirits.
