If all Beings show their imperfections because they are not unique, they must necessarily tend by gradations toward Beings more perfect than themselves, until they find that which calls to them: unity. It is thus that in the same class, the Ignorant are called by Men of wit, and these by the Learned; and that minerals are called by base metals, and these by silver, and all by gold.

Men are infinitely powerful; but they are called by Génies Genii or guardian spirits more reasonable than they, just as Men call unreasonable animals, and these call all that is less perfect than they.

The numbers increase and decrease following the just system of the Pythagoreans, who, to convey their sentiment, established it on the laws of physical and moral Metempsychosis the transmigration of souls, following the idea of several Philosophers; not that this second idea should be

Beings, unity, Ignorant, Men of wit, Learned, minerals, metals, silver, gold, Genii, Pythagoreans, Metempsychosis

taken at the feet of Wisdom meaning taken literally in a spiritual sense, but simply at the feet of Science; and this is what many Writers, most of them poorly instructed, have been unable to understand, and will not understand, without the support of the true Science of numbers.

By the force of celestial numbers, one can operate everything in the intellectual numbers, and by these, upon physical numbers.

One descends from causes to effects, when, through the effects, one has ascended to and developed the causes; for how can one find causes of which one has no idea of the effects? It is true that one sometimes possesses the causes; but it is without knowing them, if one does not know their effects.
