unobserved those secret influences might be), they only work through physical contact.
Secondly, sensation is created by motion. This motion is caused by a physical impression on a sense organ, which is then carried to the brain and the center of perception. Therefore, it is clear that all objects are capable of being sensed, because they can cause this motion. As stated in the first principle, even the most distant causes work through physical means. If they are not perceived, the failure to perceive them comes from the dullness of our own senses, not from a lack of action in the object. Is it likely that the thin, subtle matter used by distant forces can move and change particles of stone or steel, yet not move the sensitive, perfect senses of a perfected man? We do not perceive such subtle movements because they are overwhelmed by stronger impacts. We are so limited in our
perceptions that we can only pay attention to the most forceful impulses. But this is a weakness belonging to our fallen nature, which Infinite Wisdom easily prevented in his innocent masterpiece. Considering these things, it seems most reasonable to me that the reach of our Protoplast's the first-formed man, Adam senses was as wide as the activity of nature itself. To think otherwise would be to lower his perfection and insult the One who made us. I am more convinced of the concinnity elegance or internal harmony of this idea when I consider the awkwardness of other theories, such as knowledge being created inside him all at once or his faculties starting like an infant's. Neither of those seems favored by logic.
I have given a brief account of what could have filled entire volumes. A full description of such perfection can only be given by someone who possesses it. We will never reach that state until our mortal life is replaced by eternal life.
