The purpose for which these Observations are written is to convince Atheists original: "Ongodisten" of the Wisdom, Power, and Goodness of their GOD, the adorable Maker and Ruler of the Universe original: "Geheel-Al"; and to convince Unbelievers, who may acknowledge a God but by no means recognize the authority of the Holy Scriptures original: "H. Schriften", of the superhuman origin of the SCRIPTURE: and thus to demonstrate to both the right use of the World-Observations.

The method we have used to prove this is taken solely from modern physical observations and evident experiences; without making use of any bare hypotheses for that purpose. Since in matters of Physics original: "Natuur-kundige saken", one has no greater ground for proper reasoning than what can be shown through experience. For this, one may consult the writings and the examples of the Royal Academies and Societies, and of the most prominent Mathematicians original: "Wis-kundigen".
