In this same year of age, as Suidas a Byzantine encyclopedia author testifies, the honor and crown of our Physicians original: "Medicorum", Galen of Pergamon original: "Galenus Pergamenus", passed away. So too did his earnest and steadfast Vindex defender, Matteo Corti of Pavia original: "Matthæus Curtius Ticinenſis", an excellent and highly famous physician.
We, who remain behind him in this troubled and very difficult worldly state, cannot erect such a statuam statue for him as the Romans did for their physician Antonius Musa physician to Emperor Augustus. Nor can we provide and perform such a high honor as all of Greece once showed to Galen.
