A grid of letters is shown, overlaid with a large red cross and a red square border. The letters falling under the red lines form specific verses. The circles at the corners and midpoints contain letters that act as nodes for these hidden verses.
Celestial peoples and bright ranks you receive there,
Ruling the kingdoms of the sky. The nod and fire of the Crucified
Universally make you kind. When with the use of red blood
Xrist original: "Christi", for which reason from the King you shall be called leader,
And while you seek human and divine things for yourself by the touch
Nobly of the one on the high throne, in the honor of praise
Devotedly you join Christ-worshippers: and living by the sacred word,
Many-layered praises you give from the summit of heaven.
In the lands, the songs which the world offers, and the exiled
Sanctified world, the wind, the sea, and here the sun
Exalt you, rejoicing with the mountains; the parched
Rural fields sing. You grant songs to the stars by their motion.
Orient and Occident, the North, so too the South, and the breeze.
Let you hold the joy of the kingdom, because light is light.
Aloft you open the heavens, you seal the divinity there,
These great gifts of God dispensing, who made all things:
O Cross, you who are the flesh of Christ, blessed in triumph.
Quantities the Maker of such great things had given you by love:
Vivifying indeed by His gift, God Himself prepared
Elevated you well. Lest the rancid deceiver, the leader
Rotten of the wicked, should be able to say "be gone."
Exempt from the sky's light, he laughed at the prey he took:
Detained a long time, he wished to punish by killing here.
Enter, pious Cross of the Lord! Who, singing with a pious muse,
Magnify you so greatly and speak by fate:
Pretty you shine in your adornment. Glory girds you at the sight.
The dire yew tree flees. The reed and the pine to your honor
Incline humble: and with the melody, myrrh and cedars
Overwhelm the sense of smell; nard and myrrh, cypress,
Mastic, frankincense, drops of gum, amomum, balsam, bdellium.
Vanquished by majesty, they bring their vows above you,
Name harsher to some, but greater in virtue. The pious
Deliver this; with a reward they pass before Christ’s tribunal:
O Cross, you who had granted the people to go from broken hell.
The following is the plain text version of the verses hidden within the grid above, presented for clarity.

Behold, pious Cross of the Lord, what pious muse
Is able to magnify you so greatly and speak by fate:
You shine beautiful in your adornment. Glory girds you at the sight.
The dire yew tree flees. The reed and the pine to your honor
Incline humble: and the cedars, myrrh, and melody
Tremble at the scent; nard and myrrh, cypress,
Mastic, incense, gum, amomum, balsam, bdellium.
Vanquished by majesty, they bring their vows above you,
Harsher in name, but greater in virtue. The pious
Grant this; with a reward they pass before Christ’s tribunal:
