if nothing more awful than that had appeared in it. But now reflect: what awful scenes have appeared to your view since I told you of an earthly marriage, to be joined in wedlock with a man? He must take my yoke upon him, and he shall find my yoke is easy and my burden is light. For you know, when marriages take place, you compare them to bullocks yoked together to pull; but you know it is often said that if one pulls forward and the other backward, they can never plow the ground. Therefore I said—
“I would have a plow that was strong—
And so I tell you I shall now go on.
And now remember what I said before;
When you appeared at the altar then,
Like bullocks taken from the yoke,
I would make the sacred altar smoke;
And so I say I shall go on;
I have fixed my plow; I will make it strong.
Because I will take the yoke of men from you,
And so the Bridegroom shall see
The yoke of Satan shall now fall.

Agreeing in heart and soul,
And live in heavenly harmony,
In love for God and love for man.

Which you will both find in the end,
And know I have been a friend to both of you.
“But now recall the fatal hour
When Satan’s arts broke in with power
To make you dread that happy day.
I gave him room to work that way
So that men might see your obedience—
That you would die a Martyr for me
Rather than disobey my will;
And so he chilled your heart intensely.
You judged it an awful scene before,
Thinking nothing but death could clear your grief;
And so I let him lead you on
Until you reached the purpose,
