I offer to my living contemporaries samples of a science that was so sacredly honored within the walls of their temples by the first sages of the nations, but which was neglected and overlooked by later descendants. This is a science intimately woven with the boundaries of philosophy and closely related to the field of knowledge of the entire universe.

It was in the earlier years of my life that I once rummaged through the grey treasures of antiquity and found the sacred remains of this science. I searched through them, discovering in them the source of virtue and the knowledge of God, and now after
