By their combined evidence, the author trusts he has been enabled to fill up, with a considerable degree of probability, the correct but sparse outline of the Egyptian Chronology of Herodotus in perfect agreement with SCRIPTURE. He also aims to expose the falsity of the system boldly pushed upon the world as the genuine system of Herodotus in the massive French translation and notes by Larcher. The author believes Larcher's Canon of Egyptian Chronology is equally contrary to Herodotus, to Egyptian history, and to HOLY SCRIPTURE, providing only one correct date from beginning to end: the accession of Sethon, Priest of Vulcan The Roman name for the Egyptian god Ptah, in 713 BC.
This is a brief sketch of a work that has occupied the author's attention for many years. He now submits it to the public with the humble hope that it will be acceptable to the learned and useful to younger students of both Sacred and Secular literature.
