The Oxyrhynchus Papyri, Part 9

A circular seal or emblem of The Egypt Exploration Fund. The organization's name is inscribed in a border around a central vignette. The vignette depicts an ancient Egyptian temple pylon or gateway. At the top of the pylon is a winged sun disk. Below it, a central panel shows a seated figure, likely a deity or pharaoh, flanked by two standing figures holding staves or scepters. To the left and right of the pylon are stylized lotus plants. At the base of the circular composition is a second, smaller winged sun disk.
