Recto 2: All manuscripts except 1838 and 1874 add "saying" after "one another". h reads "they withdrew saying to each other about it".
"because" is omitted by 𝔓⁷⁴ 69 and 328.
3 The papyrus agrees with 𝔓⁷⁴ ℵ B 33. 69. 81. 181. 242 vg; "worthy of death or chains" A bo; "death worthy or chains" H L P h.
3-4 "worthy to do" B 𝔐 it sy; "worthy something to do" 𝔓⁷⁴ ℵ A 33. 81. 104. 945. 1175. 1739. 1891 pc vg; "worthy to do something" 044. Considerations of space are slightly in favour of the omission of "something" in the papyrus.
4 Between "this" and "if not" nearly all manuscripts add "Agrippa said to Festus, this man could have been set free" (𝔓⁷⁴ reads only "could have been set free"). 326 and 2464 agree with 4496 in omitting the sentence. Its omission is presumably due to homoioteleuton an error caused by the eyes skipping to the same ending of a word/clause.
