a letter from Godofredus Ernestus Groddeck, Librarian to the Most Serene Prince ADAM CZARTORYSKI, which presents various readings of the Phaenomena Appearances of the heavens and Diosemeia Signs of Zeus/Weather signs of Aratus, most diligently excerpted from the codices of the Vienna library, along with a learned description of the codices and other observations pertaining to Aratus. I have inserted this letter into this volume with all the greater pleasure because it may at the same time serve as a monument to the friendship and companionship by which I was once joined in Göttingen with its author, a most excellent and distinguished man, whose memory will be most sacred and pleasant to me throughout my entire life.
