...the essence of mica becomes mouth-opening catalytic/activating. Thereafter, together with lead, it becomes a mouth-opening essence. [14] Regarding the essence of pyrites (mākṣika): by the addition of the essence of pyrites, the mercury is moved in its entirety; it becomes still, the essence is bound in the mercury. [15] After the addition of the essence of pyrites, another is placed: iron and copper, with the essence of orpiment, in equal parts, are processed. [16] The essence of the mineral ghana mixed with orpiment... becomes red and binds the mercury. [17] ...the essence of mica and iron... [18] Now the method of essence: the gold-colored one, dropped into the nicula a plant puṭa, calcined five times, the mica essence gagana becomes like iron. [19] This is the method of movement for the essence alone: triturate it with alkaline acidic liquids many times, then triturate with tumburu Zanthoxylum armatum juice, and it moves. [20] Now for white mica: pure essence mixed with an equal part of pyrites. [21] The method of movement for mica essence: with heated copper and essence, triturated, the mercury moves. [22] Another method: heated copper, lead, and pyrites, in equal parts, move the mercury. [23]

...the essence of mercury: one should perform the movement of the essence. [24] Now regarding the restraint in mercury-movement: the movement is done first, the essence is inside. [25] Regarding the intake (grāsa): the greatness of the mica-intake is explained; it is not merely from the gold-connection, but the merging of the mica-essence. [26] ... [27] Now regarding the inner-messenger (garbha-dūti): the external messenger in the process of digestion. [28] Showing the praise: if the essence does not fall into the center or the seeds, and the external messenger is not used, the mercury is not bound. [28] Showing the greatness of the inner-messenger: if it is without the inner-messenger, the intake does not become one. [29] Regarding what is to be done first in digestion: the processing of the seeds must be done. [30] The intake of gold seeds: with equal pyrites, the gold essence, when digested in the center, it moves and binds. [31] The greatness of the pyrites-essence movement: when moved with gold, it becomes like gold. [32] The symptoms of the inner-messenger: when it is equal to the mercury and slips through the cloth with softness, it is the garbha-dūti. [33] Commentary: Without the essence of pyrites, gold melts again... the mercury in the center is the essence.
