These are the herbs declared; one should use them in the killing fixing of mercury. These, or all of them together, should be given as purifiers of mercury. Pounded in the urine of an un-calved cow, and having reached a smooth state, mercury is dried by their decoctions; joined with equal parts of sulfur, one should grind it in a mortar for four yāmas 12 hours. Having smeared it, place it in an apparatus, and perform a Mahāpuṭa great heat process. In this way, with seven puṭas rounds of heating, grind and grind again and again. Then, in a Vajramuṣā diamond crucible, put eight-fold parts and cook in a Bhūdhara earth-cased puṭa. By this, it becomes ash. With juices, grind again and again; this mercury-ash is successful.
