[The diamond] is yellow, and by touch, it destroys enemies; it causes vayastambha suspension of aging. It should be identified by the characteristics of being male, female, or neuter. Those that are rounded, full, with a brilliant luster, and heavy are declared to be male; they are devoid of lines and dots. Those with lines and dots and having six facets are considered female. Those with a triangular body are neuter. The preceding ones are superior; the male ones are not [merely] for transmutation but are potent in themselves. They generate bodily luster and bring enjoyment to women. The neuter ones have little potency, are devoid of desire and essence. For women, give the female [diamond]; for the neuter, give the neuter [diamond]. Always use the male [diamond] for all purposes; it is the most powerful.
