Vimala iron pyrites, and Kanta a type of magnet-stone are to be collected for the processing of mercury. (1)
The wise practitioner should bring Sulfur, Kunati realgar, Tala orpiment, Gairi red ochre, Kankshi alum, Rasanjana extract of Berberis aristata,
Kasisa green vitriol, Tankana borax, and Kushtha Saussurea lappa. (2)
Glass of many kinds, Vyoma mica in its white and other varieties,
Rajavarta lapis lazuli, Shikhigriva peacock-necked mineral, alkalis, and salts. (3)
Gold, silver, copper, iron, tin, and lead,
Ritika brass, and bell metal; these are the eight metals, in order. (4)
Diamond, pearls, Padmaraga ruby, sapphire,
Emerald, topaz, Meda a yellow gem, Vaidurya cat's eye, and coral. (5)
Musk, excellent camphor, black Aguru aloe wood,
And all poisons, whether stationary plant-based or mobile animal-based. (6)
The assistants should be handsome, wise, devoted to the welfare of all beings,
Devoted to the teacher, self-controlled, and free from greed for wealth and the like. (7)
A mortar, a stone slab, a pestle, a stone bowl,
Various clay vessels, earthen shards, a furnace, and a grinding device. (8)
A file, a tube, a bellows, a hammer, shears, a small grain-crusher,
A cutter, tongs, leather, and a pair of anvils with a heavy mallet. (9)

1. Giri refers to Shilajatu mineral pitch.
11. The mortar is a wooden vessel used for pounding grain. The stone slab is the stone used for grinding pastes. The pindika is a stone block upon which paste is ground. The kandani is an iron mortar, sometimes called a handika.
12. The file is a tool for grinding known as "kanasa". The cani is a special tool for goldsmiths. The cutter is an iron weapon for splitting metals. The arhini is that upon which iron and other materials are placed and beaten with a hammer; it is known as "eran".
