Countless thanks to the Almighty Supreme Brahman, the Paramatman Supreme Self, who has created many gems of learned men in this fleeting ocean of a world, who have composed texts on many subjects such as grammar, medicine, and astrology for the benefit of worldly beings.

Among those noble souls is this master of yoga, Nityanatha, son of Gauri, who has composed this most wondrous text, the "Kāmaratnam." In truth, this book is unique for the benefit of the people. The methods for all necessary practices in the world, such as māraṇa destruction, mohana delusion, uccāṭana driving away, vidveṣaṇa creating enmity, vaśīkaraṇa subjugation, and stambhana paralysis, are all written here in detail. Beyond this, it is like a kalpavṛkṣa wish-granting tree, fulfilling desires through the treatment of all diseases and including all materials for yantra mystical diagrams, mantra incantations, and tantra esoteric systems. What more praise can we offer? Everything will be known upon inspection.

We received this highly useful text through Shri Trivikram Mishra of the Student Medical College, Agra. We had a simple vernacular translation of it made by Pandit Shri Jwalaprasada Mishra and published it after printing it at our own "Shri Venkateshwar" Press. It is hoped that the readers, while thanking our aforementioned well-wishers, will reward our efforts.
