Using medicine along with tantra, mantra, and yantra, the patient recovers very quickly, and one becomes skilled in the six ritual acts. However, a guru is very necessary for the practice of mantras. Those who accept the method from the mouth of a grateful, accomplished, experienced, and self-controlled guru and start the practice on an auspicious day under his command, they attain success. Those illiterate scholars who want to attain mantra-success without a guru do not achieve their wishes.
