"Having known through your grace how time is bound,
Tell me now of medicine, the essence of mantra.
Many medicines are indeed for the benefit of humans,
Tell me clearly, as you have spoken before."
The Goddess asked: "O Lord! By your grace, I have understood how time can be appropriately bound. Now, tell me of the medicines that manifest from the essence of mantra. You have already spoken of many medicines for the benefit of mankind; now tell me of them directly."
"The gathering should be done according to the lunar day, constellation, day of the week, and the changes of the seasons.
The physician should perform the digging and extraction with mantras.
Medicine attains supreme power through the union of time.
O Goddess, bark and roots should be gathered in autumn and early winter.
In winter, the fruit is best, and the root is endowed with essence.
In spring, gather flowers and leaves, and in summer, fruits and seeds.
Even if trees are strong in their own season, they are always strong in the rainy season.
Just as the physician acts when the root is dry and when it is moist.
In summer and the rainy season, completeness occurs in autumn.
The fruits and seeds of trees are in their own proper season.
Flowers, fruits, and creepers are powerful in their own time.
Those born in the forest are potent at night, and those born in water are powerful during the day."
