they utter shouts; they groan and say: "Where are you taking this collaborator of ours, this breath-taker? Because of mercy and because of Your glory, this one is dear to us, and we do not agree that you take him." And the soul of the sinner is in the midst of darkness; like a reed that trembles before the wind, it shivers and trembles, and it does not dare to look upward. And with much difficulty we pass the soul of the sinner through that stage.

Red initial letter 'Ի' In the second stage, there is darkness, and fog, and it is gloomy for the sinner; he suffers intensely, he trembles and shivers like a leaf, and with great effort he passes through it. Red initial letter 'Յ' In the third stage, it is frost and cold; the sinful soul trembles and darkens even more. Red initial letter 'Չ' In the fourth stage, there is intense, burning fire; it burns and scorches, and he laments bitterly, and with difficulty he passes through it. Red initial letter 'Հ' In the fifth stage, it is a narrow and constricted gate that enters into heaven, and with great effort and labor he passes through it. Red initial letter 'Վ' In the sixth stage, there is the light-filled tabernacle, it is beautiful, but to him it is dark. Red initial letter 'Ե' In the seventh stage, they see the sinner with ease, and woe to him, for how he passed through the gate of the road. Red initial letter 'Ո' In the eighth stage, it is easier than before and they say, "Where are you taking the full-filled impious one? Turn back and..."
