ألف ليلة وليلة (Thousand and One Nights — 14th-15th century MS)

A marbled paper cover features a pattern of "shell" or "stone" marbling with large blue spots on a base of reddish-brown and white veins, with hints of green. The right and bottom edges show a gold-tooled leather border with a repeating vine or chain motif.
