A Collection

Of all the Aggadot homiletic narratives and Midrashim expository teachings scattered throughout the Babylonian Talmud and the Aggadot from the Jerusalem Talmud.

With the commentary of Rashi, and Tosafot additions/glosses, and the innovations of Ramban, Rashba, Ritva, and Ran, and the innovations of

the Author referring to Rabbi Jacob ibn Habib, the original compiler (by the compiling Rabbi). All these shall reside upon the Aggadot of the Babylonian Talmud. And regarding the Aggadot of the Jerusalem Talmud, there is the Exposition of the Compiling Rabbi .

All of these were gathered and compiled together by that righteous and perfect man, the genius and master of all,

our teacher Jacob bar Solomon ibn Habib, of blessed memory

And added to them are:

a) Innovations on the Aggadot by the true genius, the light of Israel, our teacher Samuel Eliezer ben Judah ha-Levi Edels, of blessed memory (Maharsha). b) Maor Einayim Light of the Eyes [the Riaf acronym for Rabbi Isaac Foa], the innovations of the ordained rabbi and genius, our teacher Rabbi Josiah ben Joseph Pinto, of blessed memory. c) Beit Yehudah House of Judah, containing additions of Aggadot that the original compiling Rabbi omitted; gathered and added by the master Rabbi Judah Aryeh of Modena, of blessed memory, rabbi in Venice. Upon every added Aggadah passage, there are the innovations of that Rabbi, which he refers to as Amar ha-Boneh The Builder Said. d) Innovations by the great genius, our teacher Rabbi Jonah Teomim, of blessed memory (author of Kikayon de-Yonah). e) Kohelet Shelomoh Solomon's Assembly, innovations by the distinguished judge, Rabbi Solomon Jekuthiel Zalman, of blessed memory, judge of the great community of Glogau. f) Exposition of difficult terms found in the Jerusalem Talmud Aggadot from the book Aruch.

And added to it is the wonderful book:

Iyun Yaakov Reflection of Jacob by the great and distinguished genius, our teacher Rabbi Jacob Reischer, of blessed memory (author of Chok Yaakov and Responsa Shevut Yaakov, etc.)

With all the other additions and all the holy merits found in all editions of the Ein Yaakov published until now, nothing is missing .

And upon all of these we have now added:
