a) Additions to the Aggadot with Rashi’s commentary and Tosafot, the many Aggadot that were omitted from the Ein Yaakov (and were not added even by the book Beit Yehudah) and upon which there are innovations and explanations in the book Chidushei Aggadot, Riaf, and Ein Yaakov. Since they were originally composed for the Talmud, and were only later attached to the Ein Yaakov, the printers placed signs marking the innovations for the omitted passages. They placed a symbol shaped like a hand, or a star, or the word "in the Gemara" to show that the passage is missing here and is found in the Gemara. We have now added and gathered all those passages into the Ein Yaakov, and attached to them are Rashi’s commentary and Tosafot. We have enclosed all of these in square brackets [ ].
All of these were compiled together by Rabbi Chanoch Zundel son of Rabbi Joseph, of blessed memory (author of the commentary Ein Yosef and Anaf Yosef on the Midrash Rabbah and Tanchuma, etc.).
b) (New) Ein Yosef Eye of Joseph (or Halichot Chanoch Ways of Chanoch) includes an adequate explanation of the Aggadot according to the correct plain meaning, gathered from the foremost commentators on the Aggadot and from the early and later commentators on the Talmud and the commentators on the Midrashim, and from many books of homiletics and other works.
c) (New) Anaf Yosef Bough of Joseph (or Porat Yosef Fruitful Joseph) expands the explanation for the deep and obscure passages, based on brief investigations and introductions, according to the choice commentators and books of homiletics.
d) (New) Yad Yosef Hand of Joseph provides the locations of the passages in the Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmud, Midrashim, Yalkut, Pesikta Rabbati, Mechilta, Pirkei de-Rabbi Eliezer, the Zohar, and Tikkunei Zohar.
e) (New) Innovations of the Geniuses gathered and collected from seventy-two books of the books of the geniuses of Israel (and they are listed below by alphabetical order*).
f) (New) Gaon Yaakov Pride of Jacob (the name of its author is unknown) brings up many pearls and precious stones from the depths of the books of the wise of Israel and their choice commentaries on the Aggadot of the Talmud, and sets them as a crown of pride and glory for this book.

Rashi’s commentary was printed in its entirety, and we have restored to their places the omissions that had been left out of many editions of the Ein Yaakov from the innovations of the compiling Rabbi, of blessed memory, and we have printed them in full as they were printed during the Rabbi's lifetime. We also printed the book Chidushei Aggadot in its entirety as it was printed during the author's lifetime, and we have also restored to their places the omissions that were missing from the innovations of Riaf, of blessed memory, and printed them in full for all parts of the Ein. The other holy merits added to this Ein are mentioned in our introduction to this book.
