for He Himself knows the places. And He sees everything under the heavens, for He knows all that He has made on the earth; the weight of the winds and the measure of the waters which He has made, He Himself saw and counted. And His paths are by the releasing of the voice. At that time He saw it and told of it, and having prepared, He examined it, and He says to man: "Behold, piety is wisdom, and being dead to evil is genius."
Reading from the Prophet Isaiah
Thus says the Lord: "They shall build houses and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and they themselves shall eat their fruit. And they shall not build, and others inhabit; and they shall not plant, and others eat. But according to the days of the tree of life, the days of my people shall be. The work of their hands shall grow old, and the chosen shall no longer labor in vain, and they shall not beget children for a curse, for they are the seed blessed by God, and their offspring with them. And it shall come to pass that before they call, I will hear them; and while they are yet speaking, say to them what it is that you seek. At that time, the wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox, and they shall not die, and they shall not harm anyone in the mountain of My holiness." Thus says the Lord: "The heavens are My throne, and the earth is the footstool of My feet. What kind of house will you build for Me, says the Lord, or what
is that place of My rest? For My hand made all these things, and all these things are Mine, says the Lord. And to whom shall I look, if not to the meek and the humble and those who tremble at My words?"

And behold, a man whose appearance was like shining bronze, and in his hand were lines of construction and a measuring rod, and he was standing at the gate. And the man said to me: "See, son of man. Now look with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and establish in your heart all that I shall show you, for I have come here to show you, and you shall show all that you see to the house of Israel." And behold, streets were around the temple, and in the man’s hand was a measuring rod
of six cubits, and by a hand-breadth he measured the width of the walls, equal to the rod. And I went in through the gate which looked toward the east, by the seven steps, and he measured the side-room, six by six with the walls of the gate, equal to the rod, and the arch in the middle of the side-rooms of six cubits, and the second side-room equal to the rod in length, and the arch of five cubits, and the third side-room equal to the rod in length, and the arch of the gate, near the gate-post of seven cubits, and the arch of the three gates, and the side-rooms facing each other, three on this side and three on that, and one measure for both of the arches on this side and that.
