I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, a man, and in his hand was a surveyor's line. And I say to him: "Where are you going?" And he says: "To measure Jerusalem, and to see how much is its width, and how much is its length." And behold, the angel who was speaking with me was standing, and another angel was coming out to meet him, and said to him: "Jerusalem shall be built with fruitfulness, from the multitude of men and cattle in its midst." And I will be for it a glory, and I will dwell in its midst, says the Lord. The angel who was speaking with me returned, and awakened me, as one is awakened from his sleep, and says to me: "What do you see?" And I say: "I see a lampstand of solid gold, and a globe upon it, and seven lamps upon it, and seven lips of the lamps which are upon it." And two olive trees upon it, one on the right of the filled globe, and one on the left. I ask and say to the angel who was speaking with me: "What are these, my Lord?" The angel who was speaking with me answered and said: "Do you not know what these are?" And I say: "No, my Lord." He answered and said to me: "This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying: 'Not by great power, nor by strength, but by My Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty. 'Who are you, O great mountain, standing before Zerubbabel? And I will bring out the stone of inheritance, the equality of grace He bestows upon it.'" And the word of the Lord came to me and says: "The hands
of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house.
upon the holy stone to build your holy Church. You gave, and yours we offer, to build for the glorification of your holy residence. Which is to be for you a house, with your many heavenly good things show this, and change it here into a place, and strengthen those who serve it, keeping them blameless and unharmed, and its foundations shall be un-lucky meaning unshakeable/fixed and immovable. And keep it established, and fill the holy house completely, so that with all-laudable song and glorification we may praise the all-honorable and great, beautiful name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, now and always and forever.
Isaiah the Prophet, the Deacon.
Let us ask with faith and unity from the Lord. For antiquity and glory.
Thus the bishop takes the quill in his hand, and strikes the ground which the craftsman has planned: three [strikes] toward the east, three toward the west, three to the north, three to the south. And in each of the corners likewise, for antiquity and glory.
Then they place the workers and the divided stones into the khoran sanctuary/niche, in the four corners which the bishop struck. And they enter into the service where the altar is established. And this canon is fulfilled: Psalm 87:1 original: "Սաղմոս ձզ. Հիմունք նորա ի լեառն սուրբ": "Its foundations are on the holy mountain."
Reading from the Prophet Isaiah:
Arise, arise, O Jerusalem, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord shall rise upon you. For behold, darkness covered the earth, and thick fog the gentiles, but upon you the Lord shall be revealed and his glory shall be seen upon you.?
