This notice is from Mr. Dejean, Consul in Cairo, who had the skill to extract a sum of 600 livres original: "lt." from the Minister for this manuscript. It is worth at most 36 or 48 livres.
This Abyssinian manuscript written on vellum is 500 years old.
It contains:
1. The Psalms of David.
2. Exodus.
3. The Book of Kings.
4. Those of Judges, Daniel, Jonah, etc.
5. The night prayers of the ancient Abyssinian rite.
It should be noted that this manuscript contains nothing but the mutilated Psalms of David, certain canticles taken from both the Old and New Testaments, and night prayers belonging to the ancient rite of the Abyssinians. (This note is from a clever Swede named Bjornstahl?)
