መዝሙረ ዳዊት (Psalms and Apocrypha — Ge'ez, BnF Ethiopien 15)

[all] my enemies. Take judgment, O Lord my God, according to the law that you have commanded. And let the congregation of the nations surround you. And for this, return to the heights. The Lord shall judge the nations. Judge me, O Lord, according to your righteousness, and let it be to me according to my integrity. Let the wickedness of the sinners come to an end, and establish the righteous. The Lord tests the heart and the reins an archaic term for the kidneys, considered in biblical tradition as the seat of inner emotions and intentions. Truly, God will help me, who saves the

upright of heart. God is a righteous judge, strong and merciful, and patient. And he does not bring his wrath every day. If you do not turn back, he will sharpen his sword. He has bent his bow and made it ready. And in it, he has prepared instruments of death. And his arrows he has made for those who persecute. Behold, he has travailed with iniquity, and has conceived of toil, and brought forth sin. He has dug a pit and hollowed it out, and he shall fall into the pit which he has made. And his labor shall return upon his head.
