who exalts
the sinners

are waiting, and he lies in wait like a lion 12 in his den; and he waits so that he may snatch away the poor. He snatches the poor and draws him in; he ensnares him in his net. He shall be humbled and fall when he prevails over the poor. And he says in his heart, "God has forgotten me; he has turned his face away, that he may not see at all." Arise, O Lord my God, and let your hand be lifted up, and do not forget the poor. Why has the sinner provoked God, for he

says in his heart, "He will not search." You see it now, for you yourself behold toil and anger, that you may deliver them into your hands. To you the poor is left, and you are the helper of the orphan. Break the arm of the sinner and the wicked one; his sin shall be sought out because of him, and it shall not be found. The Lord shall reign forever and ever, and the nations shall perish from his land. The Lord has heard the desire of the poor.
