The words of Ibn Baba al-Alawi, of Moroccan lineage, follower of the Maliki school.

Praise be to God, who makes the saints the heirs of the perfect prophets.
And who makes the Prophet the best of the prophets, and our master Ahmad the best of the saints.
A praise that lasts with the duration of blessings upon creation, and the duration of peace.
Then, upon the Opener of what was locked, and he by whom the past was sealed.
The purest prayer and peace, and upon his companions and his family, the possessors of status.
Now then: This concerns our master al-Tijani, and his wird a specific litany of Sufi devotion which saves the sinner.
Within it is a system that reveals the truth, in his wird required for the tariqa Sufi path/order.
God made it for the command of its people, by the status of the one who honored it and the status of its virtue.
When I followed the path of verification within it, and assisted those on the path,
I named it The Desire of the Aspirant in Mentioning the Devotional Litany of our Master, the Upright.
