منية المريد (The Desire of the Aspirant — Timbuktu Sufi MS, 1780)

After his approved completion and his praiseworthy striving there,
He traveled to the illuminated city Medina in order to visit the noble rawda the burial chamber of the Prophet Muhammad.
He visited the best of those who have stations, for whom the mounts were brought and humbled.
Then he met with the content al-Samman, the pole of the age, possessor of complete knowledge.
He informed the Sheikh of the essence of his state and what would become of his end.
The Sheikh said, "We have no [initiation] to offer," so the Sheikh apologized and was distressed by it.
However, he gave him permission in what he requested from him, and everything he desired in it.
The Sheikh traveled with the pilgrims, passing by the grave of the possessor of the banner and the crown referring to the Prophet Muhammad.
In Egypt, the home of his teacher al-Arawi, and when he came to them for the meeting,
With this teacher of his, he welcomed him, and when he arrived, he sat him near him.
He would present everything he found difficult to his imam, and from him he would ask.
