منية المريد (The Desire of the Aspirant — Timbuktu Sufi MS, 1780)

His abundant sciences appeared until he acquired much happiness,
From the scholars of Egypt for the excellence, and he benefited everyone who attended him.
He came to Tlemcen the following year, hoping for it, and increased in complete goodness.
He stayed there for a period and visited in it the secrets of the flourishing and abundant contentment.
In the year ninety-one, and in this journey he met with the loyal, pure one,
His student, his companion, the ardent one, possessor of the secret of the decisive Imam.
There was no knowledge of that for him before that for our Sheikh in virtue,
Until it appeared to him by spiritual opening mukashafa unveiling of spiritual truths one day, through a dream that had preceded the opening.
It indicated his love and his remembrance, and he rejoiced and was given glad tidings by the omen.
And from Tlemcen, he intended his move to Abu Sam'un and al-Shallala.
In the year ninety-six, he departed from it to them with his family, and he settled.
