Even when one is deeply thoughtful, the changing states that arise when approaching the status of the Bhagavan The Blessed One/Lord can be confusing. To ensure one does not struggle, this was taught clearly. The concept of the Divine Ishwaran Supreme Lord/God is categorized in four ways: the Discourse on Despondency and the Awakening of Knowledge. When one contemplates the eternal state, eternal knowledge is attained. This implies that those who strive for the pleasures of this world will face misfortune, while those who strive for the pleasures of the world beyond will find the right path. One may contemplate this in various ways.
For the one who remains in samadhi meditative absorption, there is no fear of any kind. However, for the one who is afraid, there is no knowledge. One who lacks knowledge cannot know the Divine. One who does not know the Divine remains bound to the cycle of rebirth original: "Samsari". If one desires liberation from this cycle, one must constantly contemplate the Supreme Self. Just as one restrains the senses, so too must one master the mind and establish it firmly in knowledge.
He who is established in knowledge will remain fearless in any world. For him, pleasure and pain are the same. Heat and cold, honor and dishonor, will seem identical to him. For the one who has experienced the awakening of knowledge, there is no more desire in the cycle of rebirth. To attain such knowledge, one must learn it directly from the mouth of a teacher Guru Spiritual Preceptor. Without the grace of the teacher, there is no progress in anything.
Therefore, if one desires to cross this ocean of rebirth, one must seek refuge in the lotus-like feet of the Blessed One. How many living beings in this world are born and die, deluded by Maya Cosmic Illusion. If this is to come to an end, one must practice Brahmavidya The Science of the Absolute/Divine Knowledge. Brahmavidya is that, by knowing which, there is nothing else that needs to be known.
The Divine, through His power of illusion, creates and protects everything. All created objects merge back into that Divine. Creation, preservation, and dissolution are merely the playful acts of that Supreme Absolute original: "Parabrahman". One who knows this becomes a devotee. Only through devotion can one win over the Blessed One. For the one without devotion, learning any amount of knowledge is useless.
Whatever action a devotee performs, it becomes an offering to the Blessed One. The fruits of action do not bind him. Like water that does not stick to a lotus leaf, he remains free from the bonds of action. The Blessed One always protects such devotees. No misfortune will ever befall them. For those who remain in constant contemplation of the Blessed One, liberation is certain.
