If there is no "non-contemplating," one should not contemplate the sound-realm, the ear-realm, or the ear-consciousness realm.

Self-nature is the ear-realm and the ear-consciousness realm.

It is also not self-nature. It is not the Dana-paramita.
It is the Dana-paramita. It also cannot be obtained.
The sound-realm, the ear-realm, and the ear-consciousness realm.
Self-nature [as] feelings. It cannot be obtained. The sound-realm, the ear-realm, and the ear-consciousness realm.
Self-nature is the Dana-paramita.
It also cannot be obtained. "That" "self" or "no-self." It also cannot be obtained.
The sound-realm, the ear-realm, and the ear-consciousness realm.
Self-nature [as] feelings. It cannot be obtained. "That" "self" or "no-self."
It also cannot be obtained. In this, there is not even an ear-realm.
It can be obtained, how could there be a "self"? If one can practice giving like this,
this is the Dana-paramita. This is the teaching.
Virtuous men, you should contemplate the sound-realm, the ear-realm, and the ear-consciousness realm.
You should not contemplate the sound-realm, the ear-realm, and the ear-consciousness realm.
Self-nature is empty. The sound-realm, the ear-realm, and the ear-consciousness realm.
Self-nature [as] feelings. The sound-realm, the ear-realm, and the ear-consciousness realm.

It is also not self-nature. It is not the Dana-paramita.
It is the Dana-paramita. It also cannot be obtained.

It can be obtained, how could there be a "self"? If one can practice giving like this,
this is the Dana-paramita. This is the teaching.
Virtuous men, virtuous women, etc., who speak in this way,
this is to declare [the meaning of]
the Dana-paramita.
Next, Kausika, virtuous men, virtuous women, etc., who wish to arouse the supreme
bodhicitta, I declare the Dana-paramita thus:
Virtuous men, you should be able to [practice] the Dana-paramita. You should not contemplate the nose-realm the sense of smell. If...
