Those sensations of pleasure and pain also cannot be apprehended. Why is it that, if even the olfactory realm and such are not to be apprehended here, there could first be those sensations of pleasure and pain, and only afterwards the good man should practice the Dana-paramita Perfection of Giving?
Furthermore, it is said: O good man, you should not contemplate the olfactory realm, the contact of the nose, or the various sensations arising from the contact of the nose. If there is no "self," why speak of the olfactory realm, the contact of the nose, the sensations arising from the contact of the nose, the realm of olfactory consciousness, the sensations arising from the contact of the olfactory realm, and so forth? The olfactory realm is empty in its own nature original: "Svabhava-sunyata". The sensations arising from the contact of the olfactory realm and the contact of the nose are empty in their own nature. The realm of olfactory consciousness is empty in its own nature. It is also not of an own-nature. If it is not of an own-nature, that is the Dana-paramita. This Dana-paramita is also not of an own-nature. If it is not of an own-nature, that is the Dana-paramita. In this Dana-paramita, it also cannot be apprehended. That Dana-paramita also cannot be apprehended. The olfactory realm, and even the sensations born from the contact of the nose, cannot be apprehended. Those olfactory realms and sensations born from the contact of the nose cannot be apprehended either.
Since there is not even an olfactory realm to be apprehended here, how could there first be that olfactory realm and then the Dana-paramita? Furthermore, it is said: O good man, you should practice the Dana-paramita and should not contemplate the olfactory realm, the contact of the nose, or the various sensations arising from the contact of the nose. Furthermore, O good man, to practice and speak in this way is what is called proclaiming the Tathata True Thusness/Reality of the Dana-paramita.
